Jason's Space Selfie
The timing here is just incredible...

Mark Rober runs a fantastic YouTube channel dedicated to science and engineering. What feels like ages ago now, he announced that -- as a former NASA or JPL engineer (I can't recall which!) -- he designed and built a satellite of his own to launch into space for the express purpose of allowing people -- anyone! -- to upload a photo and have it become a #SpaceSelfie in orbit over the earth, all totally for free.

I uploaded Jason's school portrait, and then began compulsively reloading the web page to check it status. Eventually Mark or his team posted updates saying that the response had been completely overwhelming, and it would take them 1- to 2- years to catch up to the demand. I stopped reloading the web page!

This morning, Christmas Eve no less, I received the email that Jason's #SpaceSelfie was done, and voilĂ ! #Beyond the earth!

I'm going to show him on Christmas morning... I'm so thrilled to share it with him!

I've embedded a link to Jason's #SpaceSelfie in the link below the photo. It's totally free to submit your own, just know it takes a VERY long time to get one back. (No sponsorship here, I'm just sharing because I think it's so cool!)
