Before digital - I lived in Haiti for a spell during the Aristide/Cedras saga. I was amazed by the effort folks put into a number of chores whether it be by beast-of-burden (donkey's) or in many cases manpower. These guys were crazy fit and usually had six pack abs from their hustle. They used these man-made carts which were loaded with several hundred pounds of goods to which they would run from point-to-point with flip-flops (aka thongs, shower-shoes) for #shoes
