Photographed in November 2015, this corner store in West Montrose, Ontario, Canada — built circa 1902 and still trading as Lost Acre Variety — is run by Vera, a member of the Old Order Mennonite community it has long served. The region's Mennonites came from Pennsylvania's Lancaster and Montgomery counties around 1800, seeking cheap farmland and freedom to practise their faith in Upper Canada.
