Photo Friday, No. 518: Day 1

Current Photo Friday theme: Seven Day Challenge

Unfinished Project 1: Home Decor. Replacing the rustic toile fabric on the panel of our kitchen island with houndstooth.

The current Photo Friday theme involves taking photos of anything for seven days. My most important camera lens broke, which caused a hiccup for me, but I will be posting seven days of photos that I’m calling Unfinished Projects.

    1. No idea. It just jammed and stopped working. Guy at camera shop said it could have been dropped or knocked against something. I have no memory of that, but anything is possible. It’s my original lens for my D40, so it’s eight years old.

      1. I’m always afraid something like that will happen to my camera’s lens, like dropping it or knocking it against something. Can you get a replacement?

I’m finding that only certain lenses are compatible for my camera, especially if I want CPU controlled lenses that talk to the camera. I’ve only got a tele-zoom lens, so taking close ups mean I have to be far, far away first. I bought it with the camera, as I was planning to do distance stuff first. Now, I’m looking into getting another lens for close-up or regular distance kinds of photos.

        1. Yeah, I love doing close-ups. I bought a used replacement lens that has a little more range, and I went by my camera repair guy’s place and just gave him my non-working one. He can fix it and sell it used, and he’s been good to me, so it was worth donating.

  1. let’s make this a priority. I can do it one evening. You can make me cubed-steak, rice and gravy in appreciation for my hard work.
